The Mitsuboshi 38-890 is a double-sided DCVS variable-speed belt built for drives requiring power transmission from both belt surfaces simultaneously. Unlike conventional single-sided belts, the DCVS design features symmetrical rib geometry on both faces, enabling correct engagement with back-idlers and drive pulleys on either surface — without tracking problems or asymmetric wear that would otherwise cut belt life short.
Constructed from high-strength chloroprene rubber with polyester reinforcement, this belt delivers excellent flexural fatigue resistance across the tight bend radii typical of multi-pulley DCVS arrangements. Controlled cross-sectional dimensions ensure consistent groove engagement across all drive pulleys, maintaining accurate speed ratios and preventing the differential slip that shortens belt life in poorly dimensioned variable-speed systems.
